Intro Classes
Not sure which apparatus you want to play on for class? Try an Intro Class! Intro classes are perfect for an ABSOLUTE beginner. No strength required and an instructor will guide you through foundational moves on the apparatus!
The cost is $25. Get a taste of the fitness and fun offered by the aerial arts! No prior experience needed. Open to all adventurous women!
IMPORTANT: if you are registering with friends EACH of you must create an account and register yourself for the same class.
Hammock is a fabric apparatus that is tied at each end at the top, so a loop at the bottom allows you to sit or stand in the Hammock and make shapes!
Hoop is a metal apparatus that is suspended from the ceiling so you can sit, spin, and play in the Hoop!
Silks is a fabric apparatus that is folded in half, tied at the top, and has two “tails” that hang down to be used for wraps and knots!
Pole is a metal apparatus that is connected to the ceiling and the floor. The Pole itself spins to allow for beautiful shapes and transitions!
When you arrive at Aerial Dance you will sign our general waiver. We’ll give you a tour of our gorgeous facility and escort you to the studio your class will be in!
Intro Classes will begin with a short warm-up off the apparatus. You'll then learn foundational and introductory spins and poses on the apparatus. The class will FLY by!
Who can take this class?
This class is open to women of any size, shape, or fitness level who are over the age of 18. No previous experience is required! If you are male or under 18, contact us for class alternatives.
What should I wear?
For Pole: Shorts above the knee and a workout top are great for class. Please refrain from wearing jewelry, especially rings.
For Hammock, Hoop, and Silks: Wear leggings that go past your knees and a workout top. It is important that all your clothing not have zippers, rhinestones, sequins, or anything sharp as this would damage the apparatus. Please refrain from wearing jewelry, especially rings.
What if I’m not good?
When are you ever good at something that is new? The goal of your Intro class should be to have fun while trying something new! Don’t expect to be good, expect to have fun!
What if I’m nervous?
That is OK! Most of the women who walk through our doors are nervous the first (or first few) times! It’s natural to be nervous when you’re trying something new. Our amazing instructors will guide you through every step of the class and help put you at ease. Be nervous, but come and try it anyway!
Is this class required?
You do NOT have to attend an intro class in order to take any of our other Beginner or All Levels classes. Intro classes are for women who aren’t sure which apparatus they want to start with or if you’re just curious about the aerial arts. These classes are intended to be fun and give you a taste of what we offer!
