The Difference 365 Days Can Make
Last year at this time my whole world came crashing down around me. I was going through some very personal relationship issues. Most days, I couldn’t make it through the day without breaking down and crying several times and on other days it was nearly impossible to yank myself out of bed. As it would seem, my world was unraveling before my eyes and I did not know how to stop it. I didn’t know how to reach out and share my feelings with others around me. I just couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, until an instructor at Aerial Dance reached out to me.
She had been working closely with our Christmas Show group of ladies. She had noticed a change in my personality. I wasn’t the smiley, happy, go lucky, person I had been before. When she finally asked what had changed, my flood gates came crashing down. I shared with her all of the struggles I had been facing. She listened to my story, not judging my feelings or the choices I had made. She understood that she couldn’t pick up the pieces of my life for me. However, she knew she could connect to how I was feeling as most have been in similar situation. She helped to me to see my worth and to begin believing in myself again.
A New, A New Me
365 days have come and gone since that hard point in my life. In this past year, I was able to discover who the real me was. I started to do things I loved again. I went hiking with friends, paddle boarding, kayaking, and tried many new things that I wouldn’t have been able to if that person had stayed in my life. My passion for the Aerial Arts grew more and more each day! I fell in love with new apparatuses. I grew stronger mentally, emotionally, and physically. These changes helped me to become a more confident as person. I will forever be a work in progress as I am not perfect and I am completely okay with that.
Thank You!
