As you get into a regular rhythm with coming to classes and practices it can be exciting, but also overwhelming, to learn so many amazing tricks and moves!

Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your classes and practices!

*Schedule your classes

This isn’t just signing up for a class on the Aerial Dance app, but this is also writing it down or putting them in your calendar! Reminding yourself of the time you’ve set aside for class will help you stick with them. Need more help? Then…

*Sign up with a friend!

Having an accountability buddy can be a great way to stick to your goals. And how fun is it to have a friend to share your journey with?!

*Define your goals
Do you have a trick you’d love to learn? Do you want to up your cardio? Do you need to practice your flow or get bendy? Having a goal or two can help you keep track of where you are in your journey and can help you perceive how far you’ve come. Sharing your goal with a friend (hey, the previous tip!) can help you stay accountable, too. Want to tell more people about your goals? Talk to an instructor about which classes and exercises that can help you reach your goal. Instructors write their classes based on the people that sign up, so if we are familiar with your goals we can help you achieve them!

*Document your progress, but still be present in class

It is awesome to see where we started and how far we’ve come in our aerial journey. Sometimes that reminder can be exactly what we need to get over a lull in our training. Documenting what you’ve learned through pictures and videos can help a lot to remind you of moves you’d like to practice or to see the progress you’ve made. Because we wouldn’t want to miss a cool trick and graceful transition in the middle of class, classes at Aerial Dance allow for some time at the end of classes to take pictures and videos.

The Aerial Dance community is so special in the fact that we as instructors (and other students!) love to see and hear about your progress. What are your goals and what are you going to do to get the most out of your classes and practices?
