I have been a part of the Aerial Dance Family for 5 years.  It’s crazy to think what life was like before I started coming to this amazing place.  Aerial Dance has made a positive impact on so many women’s lives.  When I first started coming to the studio, I was doing competitive ballroom dancing and I would workout 3 days a week.  Once I started at the studio, I would attend 1 class per week, then 2 classes per week, then 3 classes per week and so on, until I was there all the time.

With all my time spent at the studio, I didn’t have time to lift weights.  I found out very quickly that the functional strength that I gained attending Aerial Classes was way more beneficial then picking up weights and putting them down.  Classes at the studio require body awareness, engaging different muscle groups, and flexibility.  Everything that is taught has a reason behind it.  My time is valuable, and I only have so much of it, so I choose wisely what I do with my time.  I found it to be way more productive to cross train at the studio then to cross train lifting weights or going to a gym.

If you are looking to improve your skills in the aerial arts, then it’s important that you cross train at the studio.  I have found the best way for me to improve my skills is by attending all the classes that Aerial Dance has to offer.  Meeting and exceeding goals don’t happen overnight.  It takes time and hard work, but it’s totally worth it.  Aerial cross training all ties into developing your skills to become an outstanding aerialist.
