Something I truly love when being in class is the conversation and camaraderie that goes on between us all. It makes class so fun and before you know it, it’s the end of the hour and you have no idea where all the class time went! I’ve been in the same level class with a couple of the same women for a while now so we all know each other’s skill levels pretty well and can help each other explain where to put a hand or leg when we’re having a blank brain moment. These women make class seriously so fun while we constantly encourage each other to hold a pose or try something again or do it again to make sure we get it on video!

I love that during class we can all be working on the same combination on the board and when we get stuck, someone will call out what to do next because let’s all be real, trying to read the whiteboard while spinning or while upside down is a skill that is very hard to acquire! Or if you’re stuck in a move that you know how to do but you’re just confused, someone will come over or tell you from across the studio what to do next or where to put your limbs if the instructor is helping another student. We’re all just trying to figure out how to do the combo together because even though we know all or most of the moves on the board and it’s been shown to us, we still forget or hadn’t put them together before today’s class.

This exact thing happened in my pole class earlier this week where we were working on a lot of combos/moves that come from Genie. A lot of us would get in Genie and then be like “what comes next?” or “where does my hand go?” So we’d help each other and go over to their pole to say where to put a hand or a leg. I was in Genie and trying to go to Magnolia to Helix and I was confused where my arm was supposed to go. Another girl was telling me where to put my arm and I was so confused because where she was telling me to go was not making sense, until the instructor came over, looked at me and was like “put your hand here” and it made so much more sense! The other person who was trying to help me didn’t realize that my arm was wrong, so after I got out of the move and on the floor we all started laughing cause I was trusting her to tell me where to go. It’s moments like that make class so fun because we’re all just trying to figure things out together.
