There’s something really special about the friendships that come out of a women’s pole class, especially at Aerial Dance! It starts with that shared “we’re all new here” energy, especially when you’re wearing short shorts in front of mirrors trying to grip a pole. But pretty quickly it turns into real, meaningful connections.
Pole dancing brings out all kinds of emotions which are different for everyone. You’ll laugh at mistakes (and then try again of course), cheer for wins, and maybe even get a little frustrated with a tough move that isn’t working in your body today. But the cool thing is you go through all of it together. You clap and get genuinely excited when someone nails a move they’ve been struggling with, and they’ll clap for you when you do the same. That kind of support builds real friendships.
A lot of women (including me) find that the pole studio becomes their safe space. A place to go not just to exercise, but to relax and reconnect with other women. You meet people you wouldn’t normally cross paths with, and yet you can end up bonding deeply. In talking to other members, I’ve found the many women here have made life long friendships.
There’s no competition here. Everyone is on their own journey, but you keep moving forward together. In a world that can feel a little too judgmental or isolating, a community like this is something really rare and really valuable.
