Bendy is Beautiful

Body flexibility is often overlooked by people outside of the aerial world, and I know many of us even forget about it at times, but it plays a vital role in maintaining overall health and well-being. Besides the obvious benefit of being able to twist and turn in crazy aerial ways, here are some other benefits to consider:

  1. Injury Prevention: Flexible muscles and joints are less likely to get injured. By increasing your range of motion, you reduce the risk of muscle strains, ligament sprains, and joint injuries during physical activities.
  2. Better Posture: Poor flexibility, particularly in the hip flexors, hamstrings, and lower back, can contribute to poor posture. Regular stretching can help keep your body aligned and prevent the aches and pains associated with slouching.
  3. Enhanced Athletic Performance: Flexibility improves your overall mobility, which can directly impact your performance in sports and workouts. More flexibility leads to more efficient movement, quicker reaction times, and a reduced risk of overuse injuries.
  4. Improved Circulation: Stretching promotes better blood flow to your muscles, helping to nourish and repair tissues. This can lead to faster recovery from exercise and improved energy levels.
  5. Stress Relief: Stretching can also help reduce muscle tension and stress. The act of stretching itself is a form of relaxation, helping you unwind both physically and mentally.

Incorporating flexibility exercises, found in Bendy Babe or Aerial Yoga classes, into your routine can enhance mobility, reduce pain, and make you feel SO good inside. I know I smile whenever I see one of these two classes listed on my upcoming schedule. I honestly think I’d be a happier person if I could take one of them every day. I bet we all would!
