The holiday season is all about celebration—good food, family gatherings, and the joyful chaos that comes with it. It’s also the time when routines tend to fly out the window. Between parties, shopping, travel, and endless to-do lists, making time for yourself can feel impossible. But carving out even a little time for movement during the holidays can do wonders for your body and mind.
For starters, working out is one of the best ways to manage seasonal stress. A quick studio session can clear your head, boost your mood, and give you a healthy outlet for all that holiday pressure. When I’m feeling like the weight of the world is just too heavy, just 50 minutes of an upbeat Dance Cardio workout is the best medicine.
Of course another reason to go to class is to help negate the effects of holiday eating. As someone who loves all the fudge, cookies, and candies of the season, I feel less guilty about indulging when I exercise!
Going to the Aerial Dance during this season isn’t about chasing perfection; it’s about preserving balance. It’s a chance to take a break from the noise, focus on yourself, and keep your energy up for the moments that matter most.
Plus, our ADWI community can be a grounding constant during a time of year that’s otherwise crazy. Familiar faces, encouraging instructors, and that post-workout endorphin rush all remind us that self-care doesn’t take a holiday.
So while everyone else is waiting for the new year to “get back on track,” give yourself a head start. Keep showing up for you. That’s truly one of the best gifts you can give this season!
